What's On In Calvert County This July: Concerts, Fireworks, And Saturday Mornings On The Bay

If your household still treats July 4 as the anchor of the Calvert summer weekend, this month has already moved on without you. The fireworks are on the 3rd. The biggest concert of the season is on the 24th. The best produce shows up on a Saturday morning before most of the county is out of bed. The calendar has quietly reorganized itself around three different days of the week, and the residents who figure that out first tend to have the easiest summer.

This is a guide for people who already live here. No selling the county to you. Just the actual shape of July, with names and times attached.

The fireworks moved off the 4th, and the traffic plan matters

The Twin Beaches fireworks land on Friday, July 3, at dusk, viewed from the North Beach boardwalk and pier. That is not a scheduling quirk this year. It is the pattern.

What is worth knowing before you leave the house is the traffic layout. The Calvert County Sheriff's Office has published a plan that goes into effect around midday on July 3. Bay Avenue will close to incoming vehicles once parking reaches capacity, and the plan includes no left turns along portions of MD 261, no U-turns with the centerline blocked with traffic control devices, designated routes for entering and exiting the beach area, and Bay Avenue closed to vehicle traffic between 3rd and 5th streets in North Beach. If you have watched the fireworks from the same spot for years, the walk in is the same. The drive in is the part that changes if you arrive at 7 p.m. instead of 3 p.m.

The practical read: the earlier you commit to a spot, the less the traffic plan touches you. The later you arrive, the more you are working around Bay Avenue closures rather than driving to them.

The concert lineup has one date that most likely sells out first

The 2026 Waterside Music Series runs out of the Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons. Three shows total, and only one of them falls in July.

Warren Zeiders plays Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m. The Pennsylvania native has earned more than 3.6 billion global streams and scored a No. 1 hit with the double-platinum single "Pretty Little Poison." The Brothers Osborne date in August is the sentimental favorite, since John and TJ Osborne were raised in nearby Deale and have earned 13 GRAMMY nominations and a 2022 GRAMMY Award for "Younger Me," but the July 24 show is the one that maps onto the current month.

One piece of institutional context that changes how you think about the ticket price: the Waterside Music Series is the museum's most important fundraising event, raising nearly 40 percent of the museum's annual budget, and funds assist in preserving local history and educating over 20,000 children each year. When you buy a lawn seat, you are also paying for the fossil hall your kid visited on a field trip. The CalvertHealth market's 2026 vendor list includes Beachin Bay Bakery, Cardinal Creek Plant Farm, Crystal's Seafood, Freeze Daddy MD, Fungki Foods, Ivy's Peppa Sauce, Pleasant Peninsula Apiary, Over The Creek Farm, Red Dog Produce Farm, St. Leonard Shore Farm & Bakehouse, and White Oak Point Farm. The Dunkirk market shares several of those growers and adds rotating food trucks including Heidi's Eats and Sage's Treats.

Here is the piece that most residents do not know: CalvertHealth and North Beach farmers markets accept SNAP/EBT, WIC and Senior/WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers, and for the 2026 season shoppers receive up to $20 in Maryland Market Money matching dollars each market day. Solomons Island is not the same restaurant scene it was last July

It opened in September with a menu of land and sea options, live music and community events, and features waterfront views directly across from the Solomons boardwalk. The bigger news for regulars is that Trifecta has opened in the former Charles Street Brasserie space, taking over one of the island's most historically significant dining rooms. Between those two additions and the anchor tenants — Bugeye Grill, The Pier, Ruddy Duck Brewery & Grill, The Island Hideaway, La Vela, and the CD Cafe — a reservation problem on a July Saturday now has more solutions than it did in July 2025.

On the museum grounds itself, the Lore Oyster House is open during the day with times set by the tides, which is the kind of detail that separates a Solomons regular from someone who read a listicle.

The smaller anchors that fill the in-between weekends

Not every July date is a fireworks night or a headliner concert. The county calendar is threaded with smaller, resident-scale events that are the actual texture of the month:

• July 4, 8 a.m., Solomons Patriotic Pet Parade — the parade route runs from Juice Buzz to Savvie's Blue Shell Boutique, Hooked Gifts & Boutique, and out to the river walk.
• July 16, 7 p.m., Stars and Stripes Forever with the Calvert Dance Band featuring Ann Baker, on the lawn at Linden House, the Calvert County Historical Society's home at 30 Church Street in Prince Frederick.
• July 25, 9 a.m.–12 p.m., Fossil Field Experience at Cove Point Lighthouse, 3500 Lighthouse Blvd, Lusby — a Calvert Cliffs paleontology outing that most visitors sign up for but a lot of locals never try.
• July 25, all day, Christmas in July Whimsy Style at Wood Wire & Whimsy in Huntingtown, if your household has anyone who starts December shopping in July.

Set those against the two big magnets — the July 3 fireworks and the July 24 concert — and you have anchors on four of the month's five weekends.

A four-Saturday plan for someone who lives here
